When I first addressed my drinking, I believed I had a “drinking problem”. After much hard work and several relapses, today I have days sober and a new understanding of the true nature of the disease that I battle. It is SO much more than just a “drinking problem”. At the core I really only drank because I was trying to quiet my true disease, which is a “thinking” disease. Because of my disease, I never developed healthy coping mechanisms.
