A very long time ago when I was a young pediatric intensive care nurse, I was assigned one patient, a tiny neonate (newborn) with measles. Here this itty bitty new life that barely weighed 5 pounds and could fit in the palm of one of my hands was fighting for life because someone in her immediate family who wasn't even thinking of consequences, brought her measles-infected child with her to visit the new mother and baby.
